Mango’s Winter Vacation . . .Part One

After a long conversation with some of the barn birds, Mango decided that “going south for the winter” sounded like a good idea. . .especially after experiencing the “perfect storm” at home. After the horses were loaded, Mango slipped in the van and started his journey to Florida!

It seemed almost as if the awful weather from Virginia was following Mango everywhere he went

Finally in South Carolina, the sun decided to appear!

Mango found himself greatly enjoying his stay at Kestrel Ridge Farm

Finally on Saturday, Mango was allowed a visit to the Parelli Center!

Mango had greatly missed his buddy Mocachee and decided to make it up to him by spending some "undemanding time" with him

Tai Chi told Mango about the incredibly tasty tire swing, but Mango decided he much preferred using tire swing for it's intended purpose instead of eating it

The further adventures of Mango . . .Mango meets Kerry Thomas of THT

This past week, Mango have the privileged of meeting Kerry Thomas of Thomas Herding Technique . . .

After watching Friday's interesting, if somewhat suspicious activites at the barn from the loft, Mango swoops in on our unsuspecting guest . . .

After a brief introduction, however, Mango and Kerry became fast friends

While snacking on bannana chips, Mango became very enthralled with Kerry's lecture.

Mango used the lunch break to check out Kerry's tools . . .

And he discovered the Small Silver Ball was the perfect size for him!

Mango know understands why Mocachee loves his ball.

Mango wanted his new friend to stay forever, but alas like Linda, Kerry had to leave.

Where’s Mango!?

September 10, 2009 – 0530 – Our faithful barn monkey, Mango, decides to take a trip to, you guessed it, the home of my girls’ “rock stars”, Pat and Linda. He sneaks out of the barn, drives to the airport, and books passage to Durango, Colorado. I wonder if anyone noticed that I was gone?

Yes, Mango, there are bananas in Heaven.

Yep, that's a banana alright.

From there, he rents a Mazda at Hertz and drives to Pagosa Springs.  It was really hard reaching the pedals at first. But if Hannah can do it, then…

And then some leisurely fishing...

… It’s the morning of the Savvy Club Gold Summit. Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… a balloon?

At the Parelli Center, I find a new friend (my chance to make Mocachee really jealous).

And so our journey must come to an end. “No, Mango. You have to go home now.”

But I want to stay with Linda!
